I received another invite in the post this week for Contemporary Wearables 09 and Commemorative Wearables. The exhibition, which has a selection of jewellery as shown in last year’s exhibition as well as a bunch of past winners and other gallery-acquired pieces, has been touring the east coast of Australia (though it didn’t make it into Victoria which is a pretty big oversight…) This has all happened since late last year when the original show concluded, at its home in the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery.
It’s now the turn of Logan Art Gallery in Queensland to host the show, where it will open on Friday the 19th of November. My piece, entitled Marian’s Compact: Radial Pattern has been along for the ride, as it was acquired by the gallery last year. This time an image of it has been promoted to the invitation, which was a nice surprise.
