THE DETANGLERS CLUB is students, staff, and community members of the greater Fremantle\/Bathers Beach area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We spend time each Wednesday afternoon working with artist and jeweller Melissa Cameron, Katherine Ashe of vittinoAshe architects, and the seahorse detritus collected by Notre Dame University scientist Linda Davies. Together we are crafting a large scale artwork designed by Melissa for this year\u2019s Fremantle Biennale<\/a> pavilion. 

Katherine Ashe is a Senior Lecturer in architecture at Notre Dame University, and is part of the design team for this year\u2019s Fremantle Biennale pavilion installation <\/a>– Er<\/strong>. The pavilion is becoming a demonstration project, supporting her practice-based PhD at RMIT, which investigates the weave between teaching, practice, and other creative pursuits.

The Fremantle Biennale will run from the 3rd-19th of November.<\/em>

Anyone is welcome to join us, at The Mariners Chapel at Notre Dame University in Freo from 4 – 5:30pm on Wednesdays. We often prep found rope for cutting, and spend most our time tying a simple and fun lashing knot, linking together recycled rope circles that I’ve heat-joined in the studio, into a colour-coded binary message, of course! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
