Next month, thanks to Maker&Smith<\/a> who are headed to Melbourne Design Fair, my works will be exhibited with my dear colleagues and friends Sarah Elson and Eden Lennox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maker& Smith presents selected works by three eminent WA jewellers at Melbourne Design Fair 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maker & Smith will take part for the first time in Melbourne Design Fair in May!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were delighted to accept the invitation to participate and are thrilled to showcase three extraordinary and contrasting Western Australian jewellers from our curated Directory: Sarah Elson, Eden Lennox, and Melissa Cameron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will be the only exhibitors from WA! If you are in Melbourne 18-21 May \u2013 find our display at Booth C9 (near the Bar & Lounge!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah Elson<\/a>\u2018s brooches, pins and rings are cast and assembled with a focus on the ephemeral and precious nature of flora. Equally sumptuous as adornment on the body, as artwork on the wall or in a cabinet of curiosities. Sarah Elson is a member of Art Collective WA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eden Lennox<\/a>\u2018s new collection is fizzing with humour and energy, inspired by the disgracefully aging dames of the punk era. As Eden says, \u201cpunk\u2019s not dead, she\u2019s just gone to bed\u201d. Eden is repurposing amongst other materials, knitting needles into outrageous rings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melissa Cameron<\/a>\u2018s \u2018Body\/Politic\u2019 series uses enamel on steel to make two-tone pixels that are assembled to be read in binary code. Melissa featured in two short films in the MFF21 program and made the epic \u2018Juukan Tears\u2019 for the inaugural Indian Ocean Craft Triennial, IOTA21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I recently updated the formerly named ‘highlights’ section of the blog (the pending changes to the main website are at grant application stage, again, so I’m treating that section of the blog like a website ‘best-of’) to call it Spotlight<\/em><\/a>, and added some images and text from of my last year of practice.
