A plea from my good friends at NorthCity4<\/a> – the hosts of my upcoming one-day-only pop-up show (coming to Brunswick October 25th)!<\/p>\n

Dear friends, colleagues, fellow humans –<\/p>\n

I’m writing to ask for the support of my fellow jewellers and creative community\u00a0<\/b>in Victoria [Australia], and to let you know about an experimental, environmental project we’ve been planning at Northcity4<\/a>, my studio and a non-profit artist and education space in Brunswick.<\/p>\n

\n

Inspired by NASA’s brilliant research on the air-cleansing qualities of common houseplants, our dream is to build a large, permanent air-purifying garden indoors, to work alongside our conventional air-filtering system.\u00a0We want to become a leading creative community on how to use plants effectively in artist workshop settings!<\/p>\n

Importantly, we want to make all the research findings and a documented process of construction available, free of charge, for other interested artists and the wider community, locally and internationally. So this project is for everyone.<\/b><\/p>\n

This initiative, a “forest on wheels” was recently\u00a0selected a top ten finalist in the Bank of Melbourne Local Project Competition\/Environment-category.\u00a0It has a very real chance in succeeding, as the two most voted for projects in ea<\/b>ch category receive funding. The competition is very tight though, and every single vote counts! \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Here’s how you can show your support:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

1. You can vote directly at the competition website at\u00a0http:\/\/webapps.bankofmelbourne.com.au\/thelocalproject\/default.aspx?project=201<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

2. You can also simply email to indoorforest2014@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0<\/b>with your postcode and the words GREEN YES if you’d like to support the project. We can vote for you, if easier.<\/p>\n

Please note that your details WILL NOT be stored, or used for any other purpose than counting the votes during the competition.<\/b><\/p>\n
