Upcoming opportunities to exhibit, learn, earn or perhaps even teach, from all over the place. There’s been a heap added this month – it must be Deadline Season…<\/p>\n

Opportunities with deadlines<\/em><\/p>\n

**<\/span> 2013 Beijing International Jewelry Art Biennial<\/a>. Jewellery competition (let me know if you can\u2019t access the paperwork and I can forward it to you), deadline for entries \u2013 August 15 or September 1st, 2013<\/em>, depending on which information you believe. ****<\/p>\n

Workshop: Building Jewellery Benches<\/a> with Mel Miller and folks from the Urban Bush Carpenters. Need a bench? do this workshop and learn how to build it yourself. Saturday the 17th of August, 10am \u2013 2pm.<\/p>\n

Suspended In Green<\/a> \u2013 the natural successor to this year\u2019s Suspended In Pink<\/a> exhibition. A juried exhibition with this time the added bonus of two types of works on show \u2013 one exhibition piece and up to 10 \u2018shop\u2019 pieces, showing during Schmuck 2014. Deadline August 21st 2013.<\/p>\n

2 Danks Street Award for Contemporary Art Criticism<\/a>: and who is in the Danks St Complex? Well, Studio 20\/17 jewellery gallery of course! Review a Danks St gallery (*wink wink*) and win $1000. Due August 30th.<\/p>\n

**<\/span> The hARTs Window Project. (UK)<\/a> Be one of 10 inspiring project ideas\/ artworks that create a dialogue between the gallery window and its surrounding environment. Deadline Saturday 31 August 2013.<\/p>\n

Materials Hard and Soft<\/a>. Juried craft exhibition, open to people in the US only. Deadline 6th September 2013.<\/p>\n

**<\/span> Wayne Art Center Craft Forms 2013<\/a>. 19th international juried exhibition. Deadline September 12th<\/sup>, 2013.<\/p>\n

Rule The World<\/a> exhibition opportunity for Friends of Carlotta Gallery, Zurich with a Crafthaus online exhibition. Deadline 15th of September 2013.<\/p>\n

Toyota Emerging Artist Award<\/a> \u2013 Aussies only, this one has a residency as a prize plus $1000 cash. Deadline September 23rd 2013.<\/p>\n

National Library of Australia Japan Study Grants<\/a>. Live outside of Canberra? (Sorry Zoe Brand\u2026) Have an interest in studying all things Japanese at the National Library. Are an Aussie resident? Get some cash to visit Canberra! Closing date 30th September 2013.<\/p>\n

2014 Asialink Arts Residency Program<\/a>. Aussie permanent residents or citizens only. Get a grant for a residency practically anywhere in Asia. Deadline 5 pm EST Monday 30 September 2013.<\/p>\n

Leap Awards<\/a> for emerging craft artists, courtesy of the Society for Contemporary Craft, Pittsburgh. Deadline October 1, 2013.<\/p>\n

**<\/span> Mesa Arts Center 35th Annual Contemporary Crafts<\/a>. A national juried exhibition of all craft media (in the USA). Deadline Friday Oct 18 2013.<\/p>\n

Northwest Jewelry and Metals Symposium<\/a>. Hosted annually by the Seattle Metals Guild, this one will take place on Saturday the 19th of October. Check it out!<\/p>\n

**<\/span> Kiln-Fired Liquid Enamelling on Steel.<\/a> Come to Danaca Design in the University district of Seattle and learn the basics of enamelling on steel (with sandblasting thrown in to boot) from me! The class runs on the 28th and 29th of September, 10.30am – 5pm.<\/p>\n

Gemological Institute of America 2014 Scholarships<\/a>. \u201cScholarships are available for distance education eLearning courses and for classes at the Institute\u2019s campuses in Bangkok, Carlsbad, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, New York and Taiwan; and at the GIA branch in Dubai.\u201d (thanks to Crafthaus) Deadline October 31st 2013.<\/p>\n

**<\/span> Transforming Viewpoints: A National Juried Exhibition (USA)<\/a>. Calling for “work [that] explores issues of multicultural diversity, in any medium”. Deadline: October 31, 2013.<\/p>\n

**<\/span> Eco Arts Awards.<\/a> Annual online thematic arts competition. Application Dates:
\nApr 25, 2013 – Nov 4, 2013.<\/p>\n

**<\/span> REFINED VIII: Maker’s Choice<\/a>. REFINED is a biennial exhibition of jewelry and metalwork hosted by the Art Metals program in the School of Art at Stephen F. Austin State University. I’ve been in this one, it’s a good show! Deadline 9th December 2013.<\/p>\n

TOP Jewels \u2013 National Jewelry Design Exhibition<\/a>, \u201cA showcase featuring the very best artists working in the medium of jewelry design to educate the public about their craft.\u201d USA only exhibition opportunity, entries through CaFE. Deadline April 11th 2014.<\/p>\n

**<\/span> New Traditional Jewellery 2014<\/a>. As a part of the SIERAAD arts fair in Amsterdam, this competition has taken ‘ CONFRONTATIONS’ as the 2014 theme. Registration due 1st June 2014.<\/p>\n

Undated Opportunities<\/em><\/p>\n

Studio 20\/17 seeks guest curators<\/a>. How often does a well established gallery invite people to play inside their walls? Get amongst it!<\/p>\n

Patina Gallery seeks Master International Artists<\/a>. Make \u2018Soul-Stirring\u2019 works? Wanna be one of 3 artists added to their stable? No deadline, but post went up Jan 23rd, so perhaps sooner rather than later?<\/p>\n

Tributaries: Call for entries.<\/a> The Metal Museum, in Memphis, has an ongoing call for exhibitions from emerging and mid-career artists. First deadline Feb 2013, for upcoming shows, and they keep applications on file for 2 years.<\/p>\n

The Imperial Centre for the Arts + Sciences<\/a> in North Carolina have a permanent exhibition call out, with shows booked 2-3 years in advance.<\/p>\n

Lord Coconut<\/a> in Melbourne has outdone himself by publishing this listing of opportunities for artists in his gallery. As ever, this is to exhibit jewellery for men.
