{"id":5211,"date":"2013-04-06T07:51:39","date_gmt":"2013-04-05T20:51:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.melissacameron.net\/blog\/?p=5211"},"modified":"2013-04-06T08:33:48","modified_gmt":"2013-04-05T21:33:48","slug":"also-in-pittsburgh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.melissacameron.net\/blog\/?p=5211","title":{"rendered":"Also in Pittsburgh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I spent my third day with ceramicist <a title=\"Yoko's website\" href=\"http:\/\/yokosekinobove.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Yoko Sekino Bov\u00e9<\/a>, and we were joined for the second part by her partner <a title=\"Jim's Cal U page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.calu.edu\/academics\/faculty\/james-bove.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Jim Bov\u00e9<\/a>, lecturer in jewelry\/metals at California University of Pennsylvania. Yoko took me out to breakfast before letting me tour around the <a title=\"Mellon Hall of Science via Gallinsky\" href=\"http:\/\/www.galinsky.com\/buildings\/mellon\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mellon Hall of Science<\/a> at the downtown Duquesne University, which is a building by my home-boy Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. I was rapt to spend some time in and around the space, only the second Mies building I&#8217;ve managed to see so far. There&#8217;s a few more in the states, so with any luck I&#8217;ll be getting around some more of them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.melissacameron.net\/blog\/?attachment_id=5214\" that and a quick tour of the university we were back into Pittsburgh for some other commitments, which somehow resulted in an informal night tour of Carnegie Mellon University&#8217;s public art collection. Being a wealthy institution with a large campus they of course boast some interesting pieces of public art, and architecture. But no Mies buildings&#8230; Here we also caught up with <a title=\"Sharon's website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sharonmasseymetalsmith.com\/sm_site\/sharonmasseymetalsmith\/Sharon%20Massey.html\" target=\"_blank\">Sharon Massey<\/a> and <a title=\"Adrienne's blog\" href=\"http:\/\/www.adriennemgrafton.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Adrienne Grafton<\/a>, and with them leading the charge we headed in to Lawrenceville for drinks and finally some dinner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I spent my third day with ceramicist Yoko Sekino Bov\u00e9, and we were joined for the second part by her partner Jim Bov\u00e9, lecturer in jewelry\/metals at California University of Pennsylvania.
