{"id":1662,"date":"2010-10-20T08:54:14","date_gmt":"2010-10-19T21:54:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.melissacameron.net\/blog\/?p=1662"},"modified":"2010-10-19T13:18:57","modified_gmt":"2010-10-19T02:18:57","slug":"deadlines-revisited","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.melissacameron.net\/blog\/?p=1662","title":{"rendered":"deadlines revisited"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Having posted about upcoming <a title=\"a post - (quite incredibly) also entitled deadlines\" href=\"https:\/\/www.melissacameron.net\/blog\/?p=1631\" target=\"_blank\">deadlines<\/a> last week, I find now there are a couple more competitions that have piqued my interest.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Fresh \" href=\"http:\/\/www.snagmetalsmith.org\/.docs\/_sid\/5c978f045511d0c7c2bcb47e4df603fc\/pg\/10418\" target=\"_blank\">Fresh<\/a> &#8211; courtesy of <a title=\"Society of North American Goldsmiths - website (also has Fresh info)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.snagmetalsmith.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">SNAG<\/a>, is courting images of works for the Metalsmith Magazine&#8217;s Exhibition In Print 2011. (Thanks go to <a title=\"Fresh - via CraftHaus, thanks to Brigitte Martin\" href=\"http:\/\/crafthaus.ning.com\/profiles\/blogs\/call-for-entries-fresh\" target=\"_blank\">Crafthaus<\/a> for the heads up.) Deadline for that one is the 10th of December.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Wear Art - website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wearart.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wear Art<\/a> &#8211; is for original wearable art as well as reproductions of art to go onto T shirts. It&#8217;s a interesting concept, and from what I can tell the profit from T Shirt sales is going to fund the establishment of a physical gallery for <a title=\"BECA website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thebecafoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">BECA<\/a> (Bridge for Emerging Contemporary Art) in the US. Now that part (given my lack of proximity to Albuquerque, New Mexico&#8230;) matters little to me in the long run, but the potential to get my work in front of an American audience could sway me to entry. The deadline isn&#8217;t clear, but the &#8216;display&#8217; is meant to go live on the 7th of November, so I take it entries (such as they are) will have to be emailed soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Competitive?
