I&#8217;ve found that if the little balled heads on the cable get any closer together in the bath than 5mm, it gets much worse. In fact, all of these little\u00a0 guys were pulled from the bath with the copper going up the stems of steel. You can still see it, even though some of it wiped off when I dried them.<\/p>\n<p>Hmmm, maybe it&#8217;s time to change my pickle?<\/p>\n<p>The image below is of the residue of making a copper patina. Yup, in this case I had straight copper but wanted to turn it another colour. I found a recipe <a title=\"The link with many patina recipes - or google copper patina\" href=\"http:\/\/asuwlink.uwyo.edu\/~metal\/patinas.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> and gave it a whirl, not knowing what colour would come of it.
