Appearing alongside ninety-nine Australian jewellery luminaries in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor with a work entitled Infinity Affinity based on the life of mathematician Ethel Raybould, was a highlight of 2011 for Melissa. The exhibition has just begun a long travelling season, and opens at The Jam Factory in February.
Also opening in February are four shows that include new pieces by Melissa. First up is Transformation 8 - Contemporary Works in Small Metals from February 3 at the Society for Contemporary Craft in Pittsburgh in the US, alongside which is the special store feature Charmed III - Third Time’s a Charm. This charm exhibition features collaborative pieces by Melissa and fellow-jeweller Jill Hermans. The 9th of February sees the opening of the Joyaviva exhibition, curated by Kevin Murray, in which Melissa is again in collaboration with Jill, on the C3 Project.
The final show for February is a solo exhibition of Melissa’s latest works, opening at Studio 20/17 in Sydney at the end of the month. Stay tuned for more information on this very special exhibition.
