One Design in Melbourne – can you help it tour?

Hello Melbourne! I’ve got a proposition for you…

I’m heading to Australia soon and while I’m there I plan to take my One Design exhibition to Perth, where it’s going on display in the gallery space at Contemporary Metal in the first week of November. But before I go west, I’m looking for a space to hold a one-day-only pop-up exhibition in Melbourne on Saturday the 25th or Sunday the 26th of October.

Can you help??

The One Design collection was recently exhibited in Sydney at Studio 20/17 as part of the Sydney Design lineup for 2014. It consists of 30 pieces of wearable jewellery in stainless steel, titanium, 925 silver and enamel, as well as a laser cut reproduction of the original pattern from which all the works were made, in timber.

As for the exhibition timetable: the pieces would be set up, on view and then removed, all in the space of 8 hours. The exhibition design is not intrusive, is tailored to the works and will not require any fixings to walls. This means the space doesn’t need bare surfaces or any display items and it makes it easy for the exhibition to inhabit practically any space, with no patching nor painting required after the de-installation.

I’m looking for a weatherproof and reasonably lit space in Melbourne to host the exhibition for a day – any space, though by preference in the CBD – that would be accessible and amenable to a small amount of foot traffic over the course of a day. I promise to take good care of the space and leave it, at least, in the same condition that I found it.

So if you have any leads, please get in touch!
